Daily Prayer
We depend on prayer to shape the rhythm of our day at Rosary. At the start of each day, the entire community stands and prays in one voice. All classes begin with prayer and teachers are attentive to sharing a variety of prayer forms with students. Dominican Preachers plan and lead classroom prayer experiences in the morning. Students at every grade level have the opportunity to lead classroom prayer experiences and assist in all-school Masses.
Prayer Book
Everyone is invited to write their prayer intentions in the school prayer book near the main office. The community remembers these special prayers at the start of each day as we pray for “…the prayers written in our school prayer book and the prayers we hold in the quiet of our hearts …” If your family has a particular prayer request, we encourage your daughter to include it in our book.
Campus Ministry Office
Campus Ministry is committed to serving the pastoral needs of the Rosary community and partners with families to encourage students to grow as young women of faith.
In addition to Mass and adoration, Campus Ministry invites students to gather in community for informal activities such as games, lunch events, Rosary prayer groups, and much more.
Mass, Adoration and Community Prayer
An all-school Mass is celebrated each month and includes Holy Days of Obligation as well as other significant occasions --- the beginning of the school year and Catholic Schools Week, for example. Students receive formation to enable them to serve as lectors, cantors, liturgical coordinators, ministers of hospitality, Eucharistic ministers, altar servers and musicians. Students are recruited for these roles through our annual Time and Talent sign-up in the fall.
In addition to Mass, the entire school regularly gathers for prayer. These events mark special days in our community: October’s all-school rosary day, Ash Wednesday Mass, Advent and Lent reconciliation services, May Crowning, and the Senior Blessing ceremony are part of every year. Adoration is held once a month and the Rosary is said once a week after school.
Families and friends are always welcome to join the Rosary High School community for our Mass, Adoration, and prayer services. If you are able to join us, please use the office entrance to sign in and pick up a "visitor" name-tag.

Dominican Preachers
Each summer, students from Dominican high schools across the country gather for a week of prayer, leadership development, and service. Rosary High School sponsors four students each summer for this Dominican experience. Selection for attendance at the summer conference is by application in May of sophomore year. Students who attend the conference agree to serve as a Dominican Preacher during junior and senior year.
The Dominican Preachers meet twice each month and are proactive about incorporating the Dominican charism of preaching in the life of our school. A Dominican Preacher offers a reflection at the close of Mass, prayer services, and other school events. They also offer morning prayer for the school. Many of these reflections can be found on Rosary's video channel.

Grade-Level Retreats
Students at all grade levels participate in a day-long retreat. These retreats are facilitated by the Student Campus Ministry Retreat Team and include opportunities for prayer, witness, and small group sharing.

- Junior Retreat: Friday, February 27 and Saturday, February 28
- Seniors: KAIROS (optional): Tuesday, November 19 - Friday, November 22
KAIROS Retreat
Students have the opportunity to experience a KAIROS retreat in the fall or spring semester of senior year (extra spots will be offered to Juniors). KAIROS is a national Catholic retreat program, which provides students with an extended opportunity to examine their relationship with God, their families, and their peers. The three-and-a-half-day format includes witness talks by adult and student team members, prayer, small group sharing, and opportunities for quiet reflection.
Following the retreat, KAIRONIANS meet monthly for shared prayer in a gathering called "4th Day."

Service
The Dominican perspective that we preach with our lives is reflected in our commitment to service. Students at all grade levels are expected to offer community service to a recognized charitable (not-for-profit) organization. Students are encouraged to explore the needs of their local communities and to discover ways they can make a difference. We use an online tracking and reporting system for all service hours. This system allows students to enter their community service hours online at any time, find and sign up for new volunteer opportunities, receive reminders, and print a service hour log that can be used for college applications.

Rosary High School
Rosary High School is a Catholic, college-prep high school for young women sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Springfield, Illinois. Rosary creates a sisterhood of truth, faith and strength.
