Love endures for Rosary/Marmion Couple

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we are celebrating Rosary/Marmion love stories with the Gurbal family
This year, we are featuring Sheridan (Middleton ’98) Gurbal and Jeff Gurbal (MA ’98). The couple met as freshmen. Their love endures, as does their service and involvement at both schools.

“We met at a soc hop at the beginning of our freshman year,” Sheridan said. “We were a part of the same group of friends until we began dating at the end of our freshman year ('95). But we broke up at the beginning of our sophomore year.

“After each attending Kairos during our Senior year, we began talking and hanging out again, then officially began dating again on March 6, 1998. We got engaged October 23, 1998.

“We were married on August 8, 2002, by Father Charles Reichenbacher, OSB, from Marmion at Blessed Sacrament Church.

Rosary and Marmion wedding party attendants included: Megan (Peterhans ’98) Mulherin, Lisa (Gurbal ’96) Hackbarth, Bill Middleton (’94), Adam Patricoski (’99), Molly Gurbal (’08), and Tony Gurbal (’09). Countless other Rosary and Marmion graduates were in attendance.

Currently, the Gurbals live in North Aurora with their two daughters, Kylee ('23) and Olivia, future Royal, Class of 2028.  Sheridan is the Technology Coordinator at Holy Angels School and Jeff is a CAD Drafter for Todd Surveying. The family still attends Blessed Sacrament in North Aurora.

Sheridan is secretary for the Rosary Alumnae Association, and previously was vice president and then president of the Parents Auxiliary. Both she and Jeff are active in Rosary Fine Arts Boosters and the musicals.

This Valentine's Day, the Gurbals will celebrate by attending Trivia Night at Brother Chimp Brewery in North Aurora.

Valentine's Day is a great day to check out our Royal Weddings and Royal Engagements photo albums too. If you have not shared your wedding or engagement photos with Rosary, please do! (Not limited to Marmion grooms!)
