The Gift of Rosary

Before embarking on a life long career here at Rosary High School, I taught at Steger Junior High in Chicago Heights, Southern Illinois University, Paris H.S., West Chicago H.S., and College of DuPage. Each one of these adventures was short lived because of educational degree advancement and employment opportunities.
Thirty-seven years ago I landed at Rosary H.S., an all-girls Catholic Dominican school, through a colleague of mine from West Chicago H.S. where I was assisting the Dean of Students. I was somewhat unsure what to expect when I accepted the position to develop Rosary’s Spanish program and become the Chair of the Foreign Language Department. I had only experienced co-ed public education and I wasn’t sure that Rosary would be the right place for me.
